Overview
This policy explains how Become Athletic membership works, how you are billed, how to cancel, and how refunds are handled. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions and applies to every paid membership on the Platform.
Membership
A paid Become Athletic Membership unlocks the full platform: structured 12-week programmes across the six pillars, exercise tracking with progress analytics, the full exercise library with coaching notes, the Education Hub, live events access, and direct contact with the coach.
- One membership = one account = one athlete. Sharing accounts is not permitted.
- You can cancel at any time — no minimum term and no cancellation fee.
- Free-tier access to a limited preview will always be available.
How Billing Works
When you subscribe, you are charged the current monthly price (€29) on the day of purchase. Your subscription will then renew automatically each month on the same calendar date, unless you cancel beforehand. All payments are processed securely by Stripe.
- The currency of billing is Euro (EUR).
- VAT is included where applicable under Irish and EU consumer tax law.
- You will receive an emailed receipt from Stripe after each successful payment.
- You can view and update your payment method inside the app at any time.
How to Cancel
Cancelling is fast and self-serve:
- Open the app and go to Profile → Membership (or Settings).
- Tap Manage / Cancel Membership — you will be taken to the Stripe customer portal.
- Follow the prompts to cancel. You will receive an email confirmation from Stripe.
If you cannot access the app for any reason, email support and we will cancel your membership manually within one business day.
What Happens After Cancellation
When you cancel, your membership remains active until the end of the billing period you have already paid for — you keep full access until that date. After that date, your account reverts to the free tier automatically.
- Your training history, streaks, assessments, and profile data are preserved.
- You can re-subscribe at any time to unlock full access again.
- You will not be billed after your final billing period ends.
Failed Payments
If a scheduled payment fails (expired card, insufficient funds, etc.) we — via Stripe — will automatically retry the payment several times over a few days and notify you by email. During this "past due" period your membership stays active and you can update your card at any time.
If payment is not successfully collected after Stripe's retry schedule, your membership will be cancelled automatically and your account will revert to the free tier. You can re-subscribe at any time.
Membership Access After Cancellation
You will keep full paid access to the Platform until the end of your currently paid period. We do not remove access mid-cycle for cancellations. Once that period ends your role changes to free automatically, and paid features become locked (with a preview of what is available on upgrade).
Refund Policy
Because Become Athletic is a digital service that is made available to you immediately upon subscription, our default policy is no refunds on already-processed monthly payments. However, we always aim to be fair:
- If you are billed after having cancelled (due to a technical error), we will refund the erroneous charge in full.
- If you cannot access the Platform due to a fault on our side that we cannot promptly resolve, contact support and we will investigate a pro-rata refund.
- If you subscribed accidentally or misunderstood the recurring nature of the plan, contact us within 14 days and we will consider a goodwill refund in line with EU consumer distance-selling rules.
All refunds are issued back to the original payment method via Stripe.
Price Changes
We may change the monthly membership price from time to time. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days advance notice by email and in-app notification before the new price applies to your subscription. You can cancel at any time before the new price takes effect if you do not wish to continue at the new price.
Promotional Pricing & Trials
From time to time we may offer discounts, coupons, or promotional trial periods. Unless stated otherwise, promotional pricing applies only to the first billing cycle, after which the standard €29/month price applies. Trial memberships convert automatically to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends.
